jazz by the beach part II

went for the closing gig of jazz by the beach for this quarter, the singer was so groovy she managed to get almost everyone dancing by the end of the show.

we were better prepared this time, chose to sit by the side of the stage instead of in front, away from the blasting speakers so that sarah can sleep more peacefully. we also brought our own food, the food served there are yucky, this time we brought three big boxes of spizza and sat relaxingly on the mat, enjoying the sea breeze and music at the same time.

after the gig, made a mad dash down to changi prison to 'catch up' with mr elmer'shanghai rocks' goh. he is as usual, his bubbly self and likes to walk with his hands swinging behind his back.

sarah's fan with the psychedelic lights, ys was hynoptised by the ever changing patterns, he spend a good whole 15-20mins staring and smiling at the fan, totally ignoring his friends.

Wii Fit

my anniversary present from flo is the wii fit, which is almost extinct now in singapore due to its short supply. we were so lucky to stumble upon the final reminding set at challenger while looking for photo papers to print pictures of sarah.

flo almost died from laughing when she saw me attempting to do the hula hoop and walking the tight rope. fyi, she is much fitter than me, according to the analysis from software. i am trying to attain the ideal bmi of 22, up from my current reading of 20.

will put up pictures of us in action soon. till then...

Sarah & Daddy

is daddy feeling jailed, confined or burdened by a baby??

daddy and sarah in other angles...

always look on the bright side of life. ; )

jerry mentioned that he likes this pic that i took for him and sarah. anyway, i think he was doing his father-daughter thingy when i captured them in this pic. when i was still carrying sarah in my tummy, i will get him to talk to the baby. he will then go "poke poke poke" as he poke my tummy. when he did that, he was of course talking to the baby in my tummy. when i laughed and asked him "must like that meh?" he claims that it is a father-daughter thing that i wont understand! now that my tummy is spared, sarah's cheeks get the pokes. lolz *grinz @ jerry*

nevertheless, Sarah's got a great daddy! he loves and adores sarah a whole lot! yes, daddy? hee

grandma's birthday

sarah's grandma that is! we decided to pre-celebrate on the sunday before her birthday so that everyone is available to attend. our orignal intention was to bring her to beng hiang, but alas, its closed for renovation till august, otherwise we could listen to their famous birthday song while dining to their delicious hokkien cusine! in the end, we changed the venue to westlake, another old school restaurant serving good food.

Photobucket

making our way there. this picture is actually taken outside westlake's kitchen.

Photobucket

queens rd estate, very 70s 80s feel.

Photobucket

he was so excited with the big wide open atrium, saw him running from end to end when we arrived.

Photobucket

my mum's ex student, she has been working here for 30 years, they still recognise each other. How nice of her to give us a discount!

Photobucket

sarah was very well behaved during dinner. enjoying the company of her pacifier.

Photobucket

this is what they are famous for, the 'kong ba bao', very juicy sweet piece of fatty pork!

Photobucket

after dinner, we sat at the benches outside the restaurant, brian was in a good mood, even better mood after he got a small toy from grandma.

Photobucket

flo says brian and her has the same look in this picture. its funnily true!

Photobucket

a rare picture taken of the two cousins together, brian doesnt like to hang around other kids normally..

Photobucket

brian taking a peep through the netting of sarah's pram

Photobucket

he is so adorable

Photobucket

after the birthday dinner ended, flo and me actually responded to the lame advertisement call, and decided that 'we are so going to swensens!'

Photobucket

took ages for them to prepare the fondue, this despite it being non-peak hours. so we started snapping away with the camera

Photobucket

we were that bored, ended up playing with the cutleries.

Photobucket

finally...to be frank, we were disappointed with the serving and lack of variety.

Photobucket

i wished i could eat so graciously like flo, i was so clumsy and ended scalding my both fore-arms with the hot chocolate, which felt like hot wax. duh.

Photobucket

miss sarah yau, she slept through the supper. she always concuss when she is in an air con environment.

Our First Wedding Anniversary!

19th July is our wedding anniversary! We celebrated by going on a day trip all over the island.

Photobucket

Our invited guest of honour, sarah yau, sitting graciously in her royal 'carriage'. Our first stop was to vivocity, our intention was to have lunch at marche and shop around for sarah.

The play fountain where we took the second picture is an 'amazing' place, lots of kids running around naked or in undies. one mother even use her son's wet undies to wipe his face. lol.

We bought this top for her at mothercare. she was sleeping soundly in her pram, but when we were putting the top on her to see if the colour suits her. she woke up and gave that look, as if telling us 'please buy for me'. when i said i think it doesnt suit her, she gave a frown and looks like she was going to cry. so i had no choice but to gallop off to the counter and pay for it!

we headed off to marche, but it was too crowded. so we decided to go for jap. on the way there we bumped into hiro and his folks!

both babies were sleeping soundly side by side while the parents were busy discussing the different ways of taking care of babies, on how irresponsible and unappreciative the husbands are...bla..bla..bla..then hiro woke up..he looked so cute in that picture with his eyes opened!

after we parted ways with the yeos, we went to have our lunch, at one of the japanese restaurant. wanted to try the wagyu ribeye steak, but it was 'out of stock' and had to settle for the wagyu tataya which was more like an appetisier dish, which i dont really like as the seasoning was so strong that it overwhelmed the taste of the beef. but flo enjoyed it, as she likes garlic and onions. the skewered grilled foie gras was very yummy though! sarah wasnt left out, she had her milk as we ate, as usual, after her food she gets all drowsy and sleepy!

our original plan was to head to east coast to laze by the beach after lunch, but the weather wasnt co-operating, the skies were overcast and it was drizzling on and off all afternoon. so we decided to stay at the mall. the aircon was getting cold for sarah, so we put on her woollen hat for her!

took some pictures with silly poses on the deck, who else but flo's idea.

those photos with us looking through the netting of the pram, were taken right outside the al fresco area of a busy coffee joint, people were staring at us doing the poses. i lamented that to flo that she could have chosen a more secluded spot rather then providing free entertainment to those caffeine addicts.

spending more time at the mall = spending more. flo ended up buying sarah her first soft toy, froggie the frog (what an original name!)

it was already 5plus, and we were getting bored with the place, having spent 5 over hours there. we headed to our next destination, t3, as i thought it would be a nice place to walk and push sarah around with its ultra wide walkways.

the place was boring and freaking cold, we left after a while. just a cold building with lots of glass window and walls.

our final destination was dinner at garuda (not the airline) to have indonesian food! (two thumbs up!). flo got to unwrap her present there, even though she already knew what it was, she has this bad habit of probing me about her present before she receives it.

the food was really good, save the grilled squid which wasnt it this photo, as i was too hungry to take photo!

on the way home, we discovered one of sarah's sock was missing, a slight blemish to this perfect, wonderful day.
